I received: Mexican Chocolate Cookies, Caramel Cookies, Fennel Cookies, Friggies (Peanut Butter) & Snicker Doodles.

The Mexican Chocolate cookies were something totally new for me. They had a dark chocolate base taste, but after a few seconds it had a peppery bite. When I opened the bag the smell was amazing! They were very crumbly, but were very good overall.

The Caramel Cookies had a sugar cookie consistency, moist and chewy. They could of used a bit more caramel flavoring or chunks even but they were very, very yummy. The taste resembled that of the peanut butter cookies somehow.

My grandmother used to make anise cookies when I was growing up so these took me way back. The cookies consistency and flavor were perfect, with just the right amount of fennel. As far as I am concerned you have perfected this recipe.

It was a tie for first for me, between the snicker doodles and the fennel cookies. The snicker doodles tasted like, well snicker doodles, and they were absolutely delicious! I actually only got one of these because my girlfriend beat me to em while I was at school...

Caramel Cookies: Tastes great! Love the consistency, melts in your mouth but not weak and crumbling when handled.

Fennel Cookies: Unfortunately not a fan of these ones, don't like the licorice, but that's just personal preference. Also they were quite dry which made them a little hard to eat.

Friggies (Peanut Butter): Very crumbly, break easily (have to clean my keyboard now...), but melt in the mouth to a greater extent than the Caramel Cookies. Interesting use of peanut butter for us Irish people :) The bf doesn't even like peanut butter and he loved these :)

Snicker Doodles: Best til last, sweet but not too sweet, a little bit dry as well (too busy eating them to write any more....)

Can you add us to the list again please? Snickerdoodles would be appreciated again, and the following ones from your list sound good, but not necessary, whatever suits you :)

Unfortunately I don't get them until tomorrow evening When I see my bf (handier to get them sent to his work address, no one at home to open the door to the postman) He's been warned (several times) not to eat them without me and he assures me he hasn't opened the box :)

I haven't been on much the past week, but I got a little box of Heaven on my porch last week. The cinnamon Chocolate (because you HAVE to capitalize Chocolate) chip were awesome, and a hit with everyone! I also loved the coffee sticks. The blondies went over quite well, as did the Mexican Chocolate Chip. The consensus was that they reminded everyone of the spiced wafers you get in the fall.

I think I am moving next door to Maven, so I will be closer to teh cookays!

I finally arrived and the cookies were well hidden from BF's son. They left on an errand soon after I arrived and I immediately opened the box.

I started with the Lime Bites - just the right amount of lime with a hint of sweetness. I love lime and these were just the perfect perfect cookie.

Cinnamon chocolate chips--left me with cinnamonny goodness in my mouth...still tasting it!

Mexican chocolate crips -- unique, flavor combination -- slightly spicy mellowed by chocolate

Brown butter toffee blondies - rich buttery goodness.

Oops...they're back and I'm caught with a blondie in my hand. Offers BF's son a cinnamon chocolate chip...Hmmm. He's happy!

Me too. These were fabulous. Especially the lime bites - grabs one out of BF's hand.

Also loved the "devil duck" packing tape

The mexican chocolate don't have any chunks, the chocolate is melted in the dough. :)

Blondies are brownies that have something other than cocoa as a base. Those use brown butter and brown sugar for substance.

If he stashes them in the freezer, they'll keep longer.

^^^^That's it!! That's the tape that was on the box that was waiting for me to open when I got home yesterday!!!!!

I think I actually squealed with glee.

So far, here are the results:

LB: thinks the cinnamon chocolate chip cookies are wonderful.
Haleyesque also is in love with the cinnamon CC cookies.
CLS has not tried them yet.

Brown Butter Toffee Blondies
CLS: OH MY GOD! I have nothing else to say but OH MY GOD! I think there was a little piece of God in that baked proof that there is a heaven. By far, my favorite.
Hayleyesque: Also a fan, I think she is going to tell you herslef.
LB: Liked them very much.

Lime Bites:
CLS: I liked the texture of the cookie, it was a nice chewy but I was not a fan of the taste. It was not a BAD taste, just not one that my tastebuds thoroughly enjoyed.
Hayleyesque: Same as above.
LB: has not tried them.

Coffee Sticks:
They were sent at the perfect time. LB and I had just sat down after work with our afternoon coffee.
CLS: Very much enjoyed the taste of the stick with the coffee. They were not too sweet so they didn't ruin the coffee goodness.
LB: Said same
Hayleyesque: Tried but I am not sure how she liked them.

We have the Chocolate Mexican Crisps left to taste and there are still 4 more children to taste and rate.

We will get back to you.

I got cookies from Maven last week and let me say that it was an explosion of joy in my mouth and heart.

The chocolate chip cookies, a joy and a half, the old stand by, the great cookie that started it all. They were delicious and wonderful.

The Vanilla cookie was interesting, when I opened the tupper ware I got hit with the scent of Vanilla extract, and the texture was that of dough. Dont get me wrong the cookies were great, just thought I would share.

The butter toffee biscuts of love were incredible. IN-f**kING-CREDIBLE.

I love you Maven. LOOOOOVE YOU.

The ducks were really cute on the box too. I later used the box to help a friend move, and she loved the packing tape. You rock. God Bless.

I think it's worth mentioning that I didn't share with Yogurt. I share everything with Yogurt unless it's something that will make her sick. She likes everything, even fruit.

I share everything with her because if I don't, she starts giving me the look. Then she inches closer and closer to me, until her nose is right in front of my face and I can't escape the look. So I share.

But I didn't share even one tiny bite of the Maven cookies. Not one. I actually growled and showed my teeth. They're MY cookies, they're not for you!

I was expecting the cookies to arrive on Thursday. When the mailman knocked on my door, I quickly put on a skirt, nudged the dogs back, opened the door and asked "is today Thursday?" The mailman told me that today was Wednesday and I practically screamed, "They came early! The cookies came early!" He just laughed and told me to have a nice day.

BTW, Maven, I love the duckies on the box!

So I opened the box, looked at a headline on Maven's newspaper, and then took out the three "Tupperware" containers of baked goods. I say "Tupperware" because there was Glad and Ziplock brands, but like Q-tips and Kleenex, it's all Tupperware.

I was supicious of the cinamon chocolate chip cookies but I smelled them and they didn't smell scary and I've read amazing things about Maven's god-like cookies in the past, so I gave one a try. And then I gave another one a try. Then Zach took the container and gave one a try, and then another. As I type, the container that contains those cookies are being held captive by my husband. I'll get them back someday.

The next type I tried were from the "Lemon Ginger, for tummy!" container. I told Zach that those were obviously meant for me but that he could have one. I have eaten three of these so far. Their texture is amazing! It's soft but it still has structure and I love how it goos in my mouth. Yes, goos in my mouth. I'm big on texture, clothing, food, everything. Texture is the most important factor in everything for me. These Lemon Gingers have an excellent texture!

While slowly chewing a Lemon Ginger and savoring the flavor, I caught myself daydreaming that I was related to Maven or that we were both members of some sort of social thing where food was often brought and shared (like a picnic or a potluck). That would be absolutely wonderful!

I still have Brown Butter Toffee Blondies and Lime Bites to try, but they will have to wait because I don't want to over do it, and with morning sickness, over doing it isn't hard.

So far we've sampled the BBTB's and they are amazing! Lovely texture and so damn tasty, like heaven in your mouth.

Also tried a PPC and they are out of this world. I don't like peanut butter as a rule but these are amazing, soft, melty in the mouth.

After anxiously waiting for wonderful Maven's cookie package, it finally arrived on friday, and as soon as I got home, I grabbed my knife and did a RowanGrey (opened the box.)

I spread the contents on the table and took the Oatmeal Crisps out of the bag, since Maven had mentioned that the batch had not come out very crispy.

The review will be based on the following criteria:

Taste: 1-5
Aroma: 1-5
Overall: Texture, consistency, make-up

Despite the fact that Maven had mentioned the Oatmeal Crisp batch did not come out crispy enough, the airing out helped and they were crispy, especially considering the amount of time they were in their bags. The texture is that of biting into brown sugar with some oatmeal taste, very crumbly. To a degree it tastes more like sugar than actual oatmeal, but considering that it is called a crisp and not a cookie, this is rather perfect. One suggestion: Add about 5% more oatmeal, want to retain the 'crisp' effect but crank up the oatmeal flavor. The consistency is great and it passes the crumbleness test.

Taste: Our version: WOW. According to the scale 3.5-4 lacking in the oatmeal department. If it was just a sugar crisp about a 4.5

Aroma: About 10 times less pungent that the taste. So about a 4.

Overall: Really (x9) Good.

Seriously, Maven. You rock!

On my next segment we will review another cookie from the batch! :D
