I asked this last time out but didn't get a reply - I think it may not have been heard in all the shouting.
Does Adblock make a difference to revenue?
So far as I understand it, the advert is still served up by the provider, but is removed in the rendering, so in theory, as far as Google are concerned, I've seen it.
But then Adblock is no great secret and also Google are quite clever so it's not beyond the realms of believability that they'd know I've got Adblock on and don't pay you as a result.
I also know that there's more than a small slice of witchcraft and rune casting when it comes to Google paying up for the ads served, so there may well not be a concrete answer.
The bottom line is, if you know it makes a difference, I'll create an exception for the site, and encourage others to do the same.
Plime is an editable wiki community where users can add and edit weird and interesting links. Users earn karma when other users vote on their actions. The more karma you have, the more power you have at Plime.
«suckersklub:Do you know that feeling when you return from a vacation just to find that some crackheads have broken into your house and rearranged the furniture?
No.
Maybe you shouldnt live next to so many crackheads. =p
Thanks for the fixes: now the format is better in Firefox, the forum click works from the profile. Editing does not add extra lines in Firefox, still it does in Opera.
Now in the main forum page when I click to get to the last page of a thread (on the number of comments) it gives this error (this is in Firefox):
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01a8'
Object required: 'rs'
/forum.p, line 367
========Edit-------- Seems to be fixed now, thanks. (Did you fix it, or is this something that might just come and go and come again?)
What's the possibility of putting up a "donate" button? Not a requirement for membership, but a way of throwing some dead presidents your way for those of us love Plime and don't want to see it go bye-bye due to financial reasons.
«jaxomlotus : Dear Mr/Ms. Future Complainer About Advertisements,
Plime currently costs me $800 a month to run. Do you want to pay me $800 per month or would you prefer Google is the one who does it? Perhaps we can work something out. I accept PayPal and money order.
Sincerely, JaxomLOTUS
PS. Someone running Plime out of the goodness of their heart would be pretty dumb. This is a site about collecting wierd things on the internet, not an orphanage.
$800 a month!!!???!!!!
Dude, your hosting company is taking you for a ride!

Seconded.
And I'm fine with the new format. Anything to bring in revenue.
