I'll start. :^)

In case you want to make your own angels, here's how.

You need 26 gauge florist wire (green works best); needle nose wire cutters/pliers; sturdy 3" wired ribbon; strong scissors;hot glue gun and sticks; beads, marbles or bells for heads; and small decorative touches.

Bend 3" wired ribbon into accordion shape, trying to keep edges straight and size the same. When you have 6 rows, cut at back of ribbon: you'll have 6 peaks on front, and 5 peaks/2 ragged edges on back. Repeat, except with 4 rows, and repeat 4 rows again.

Place ribbon segments on tabletop, 6 row in middle and 4 row on sides. Slide 4 row segments up until they are halfway higher than 6 row segment. Make sure ragged edges of segments are on bottom.

Cut length of florist wire about 6" long. Bend in middle so sides are even. Pick up ribbon segments, and slide wire around all 3 at top of 6 row segment so that wire ends are at back of segments and all three are binding together. Twist, twist, twist wire until wires are completely twisted together. Clip uneven end with wire cutter; hold in plier and wrap around nose, then remove, and flatten to make hanger.

Fold "wings" in half to check evenness. If not even, adjust by gently pulling short side (wire may come off if you pull too hard). Extend inner ragged edges a little, and lightly hot glue one side. Use pliers to hold together. Repeat on other side.

Hotglue head on top of angel. You want a marble sized head for best results, smaller if you use smaller ribbon. To make halo, wrap thin gift wrap ribbon around finger in oval pattern. Dot one end with hot glue. Carefully attach other end, and attach to dot of hotglue at back of angel's head. You may burn yourself if not careful in this step. You can also use bridal shower "rings" as halos, but will need a bigger bead of glue.

Extend skirt and wings (in that order). If the effect isn't pleasing to the eye, squeeze together and extend again.

Attach small decorative element to dab of hot glue where wire shows on front.

Practice makes perfect! Enjoy.

How to catch a trout with your bare hands

Great way to impress your camping friends

(my daughter has done this a few times, she's amazing. here's how you do it if you don't have the same ninja skills that she does.)

  • Bet some friends for beer or cold hard cash that you can do this.

  • Look for where the trout are feeding. This should be pretty obvious as you'll see a s**t-ton of them clustering around the area(s).

  • Lie down on the bank and extend your arm into the water. You'll probably be most comfortable and able to move quickly if you are on your side. They will initially move away from you, but if you leave your arm there they'll come back.

  • Wiggle your fingers slowly. Think of your fingers as worms drifting along with the current. Be aware: if the water is cold, your arm may go numb.

  • Move your hand slowly--very slowly--closer to the fish when it draws near, wiggling your fingers all the while.

  • Tickle the fish's belly with your fingers when it is near enough. It will be laughing to hard to resist. Quickly scoop the fish out of the water and land it on the bank.

(actually, I don't know why the 'tickling' works, but it throws them off long enough for you to toss them to the bank)

    How to Make a Pinata

Using white glue, mix two parts glue with one part water in a bowl. For the flour and water paste, combine two parts water with one part flour and mix well.

Inflate and tie off the balloon.

Dip the newspaper strips, one at a time, in the paste mixture and make sure both sides are covered. Carefully place the strips on the balloon, leaving a hole at the top that's large enough to fit the candies and toys into. When the balloon is covered (except for the hole), set it aside for several hours to dry.

Repeat this process two more times so that there are at least three layers of newspaper glued to the balloon. Make sure that all of the layers are completely dry before starting a new one.

When the final layer is dry, pop the balloon at the top and remove it. Now you're ready to create the shape you want to use.

Using paint, glitter, crepe paper, and trim, decorate your pinata. Attach crepe paper streamers to the pinata if desired.

Fill the hole at the top of the paper mache oval with the small candies and toys.

Thread your sewing needle with the strong thread or fishing line and punch through the paper mache to create a loop to hang the pinata with.

Those of you with kids might enjoy making this.

    Kool-aid Dough

    Flour 3cups
    Salt 1 1/2 cups
    Water 3 cups
    Vegetable Oil 2TB.
    Cream of tartar 1TB.
    unsweetened "Kool-Aid" 1pkg.

Mix ALL of the ingredients in a large saucepan.
Cook over medium low heat, until the dough comes away
from the edges of the pan and it becomes difficult to move the spoon. Remove from heat. Cool until it can be handled.
Place on counter or wax paper knead 3-4 times.
Store in an air tight container.

Noodling is a bit different. Noodling is primarily used for catfish, you find where one is nesting, put some bait in your hand, reach into the nest, and when the catfish puts your hand in its mouth, you ram it down their throat. Yeehaw.

I wouldn't stick my arm there, but you can if you want. I'd rather pick it up by the tummy and toss it onto the shore.
