I just watched the most amazing relay race. It happened last night and of all the swimming competitions I have seen, this one was truly stunning. Yes, the US did win but even if it had been another country, it would have still been just as amazing.

Were they? About the "smashing the US" thing? I read something about it but didn't take it too literal. What did they really say?

An American jounalist (who spoke French, mind you) had interviewed Bernard:

Journalist: Do you think you can beat the United States?

Bernard: "The Americans look good this year. We could beat them, they could beat us."

On a side note: Everyone in France is saying how the 4x100 relay was the BEST relay race in history

At any rate, even if that is what they said, that is all part of sports. It keeps spirits up and makes athletes push harder.

I have no problem with a little verbal sparring.
