After months of wearing hiking boots, I can't walk like a lady in heels. I'll blame the callouses and blisters on my feet, but I think I'm just not used to walking on heels and without 25kg on my back.

I'm so glad flats are fashionable right now :D

« Marz : I was in New York last September, and ended up buying shoes in Manolo Blahniks shop. It was a lot of money, but I don't regret it one bit, I adore them, and they make my giant feet look elegant and sexy.
*turns green*

i don't buy leather so my choices are limited, but i do love shoes. and handbags. and belts.

put me up in a pair of super high super cute heels and i'm good to go. every bit of the 5'3'' of me swoons over the manolos...but my leather loathing won't allow. perhaps one day...

NEW YORK: IF THE SHOE FITS

Mad about Manolo? Then head over heel to Fifth Avenue on Sept. 12 when Bergdorf Goodman and the Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, celebrate the celebrated designer. Manolo Blahnik will be there in the flesh, so a pedicure at the Ritz's spa might be in order the day before, and perhaps a pair of ''Something Blue'' cocktails in the Star Lounge afterward.

Details: The Ritz's five-day Mad About Manolo package starts at $1,999 and includes pedicure, the reception with Blahnik, a pair of autographed Something Blue pumps (if you have to ask, this probably isn't the event for you), an autographed copy Manolo Blahnik Drawings and more. 866-671-6008, 212-308-9100 or www.ritzcarlton.com/centralpark.

Has anyone tried any of the Jessica Simpson shoes? I love her styles, but I see mixed reviews on Shoes.com about comfort.

I have a cute pair of black pumps, and they're surprisingly comfortable. They're her only shoes I've worn, though.

These...These should not exist. There are times where just because you can invent a fashion, doesn't really mean you should.

I read about some shoes that the Border patrol confiscated from Coyotes (the people smugglers; not the animals that chase roadrunners.)
The soles had a leather or wooden extension that resembled a cow's hoof. Its purpose was to deter Border Patrol tracking. Not very fashionable, but very practical.

You can always use good old super glue as a quick fix if you want to wear them immediately. However, taking them to a shoe repair place would be a better, longer lasting fix. At least take it in and let them have a look at it.

I've used "shoe goo" for a quick fix. But it's messy.

It appears to be for the Japanese are really crazy types. It's sad when I'd feel better to think they were for fetishists.

I was told that Gorilla Glue was the best for fixing a broken heel.

I think those vintage dresses are lovely, but I'd never wear them any place. Work would think I'd gone out of my mind.

Caught exhibit today right out my office door. The gowns on display were incredible. There was one black number with sheer sheer panels...I asked "what do you wear under it" and was told that was the most popular question about that gown. I'll try to find a picture.

Only spent about 10 minutes in the exhibit - a quick sneak out of the office, but will report back if anything is worthy. Still wonderful seeing these couture dresses up close and personal. And they are all probably sized as 0.
