The interesting thing here is that many people think wave energy is something that comes from "surfing style" waves that crash on the shore. This thing generates electricity from simply bobbing along on the gradual rise and fall of mild surface waves.

It would probably be a good supplemental energy source but you'd have to have miles of these devices out there to support a single large city.
