Turns out that the kid was a sociopath, and his parents tried everything they could to reign him in to no avail. Apparently he was very good at manipulating authorities and made it seem as if he was being abused by his parents to get them in trouble.
It's just heart wrenching... to "know" your kid is a psychopath and there is not a damned thing you can do about (and nobody who can help) until something tragic happens.
If that is a true letter (which it appears to be), then I will have to force myself not to jump to conclusions next time.
I just don't think ANYONE can imagine a parent child relationship that was as seriously F'd up as she described.

Believe me when I say this, it's never the video games, never.
First off, I am NOT promoting child abuse, but I would have beaten that kid into a coma for half the crap he pulled. There are some people out there that seriously need a good shot upside the head. Then again, he would have pulled some bullcrap with the cops and gotten his family in even MORE trouble.
