Snowplow driver in hot water for good deed
Snowplow driver in hot water for good deed
A state snowplow driver apparently is in trouble for clearing a rural driveway so a heart patient could get to a doctor's appointment. picked by AutumnLotus 2 years ago

I can certainly understand the county policy behind this - I'm sure if word got out there would be plenty of jerks that would call up and claim "medical emergency - please help" when they were really just too lazy to get off their fat a$$es. I hate when my taxes go to supporting and helping lazy scumbags.

On the other hand - this guy really does deserve some credit for being a compassionate human being. If he loses this job I hope there are other companies out there lining up to hire him!

You're exactly right. I hate it when people spoil things for everyone by being greedy. I know it burns when I see people using food stamps to buy steak and expensive seafood when money is being taken out of my paycheck to buy it for them, and I can only afford canned tuna and the occasional McBurger.

I know what you mean. When I was in elementary/junior high, I remember I had friends whose parents got welfare, but they had cable, and bigger TVs than we did. We actually only ever had second hand TV's and other furniture from relatives untill I was highschool age. Maybe that's why we didn't need government help though. My dad knew what was worth spending the money on.

Yeah, I really have to make sure I have enough money for essentials like utlitites and rent and all before I'm stuffing my face with lobster. I'm disabled, and I manage to work (a crappy job, but still) so my sympathy is somewhat limited. There's almost always SOMETHING you can do. I have a couple of perfectly capable cousins who are on welfare because they think working is somehow beneath them.

Actually I wouldn't mind welfare if there was some way of limiting what the food stamps are used for, like in the WIC program where you're issued a check that can only be used on approved, basic items like milk, baby formula, certain kinds of cheese, tuna, plain jucies, beans, etc. But it's absurd when people are using food stamps for junk food and luxury items.

I've never had cable and I just recently got my first bed sheets. They don't fit, so I duct taped them to my mattress.

But like your family, my family's never needed help (at least not financially).
