Commercial Airliner Misses Airport By 150 Miles
Commercial Airliner Misses Airport By 150 Miles
Two Northwest Airlines pilots who overshot their destination by 150 miles before turning back should have had numerous warnings as they approached and passed Minneapolis: cockpit displays, controllers trying repeatedly to reach, the city lights twinkling below.

Yet the pilots didn't discover their mistake until a flight attendant in the cabin contacted them by intercom, said a source close to the investigation who wasn't authorized to talk publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity. By that time, the plane was over Eau Claire, Wis., and the pilots had been out of communication with air traffic controllers for over an hour. picked by cecilberman 1 month ago

What can you expect from "No Frills Flights?"

All those for Minneapolis, parachutes are in the rear.

If you don't pull the cord, how is the pilot supposed to know you want off at this stop?

When you're talking about an airplane, missing by 150 miles really isn't that far.

its not that far if your mid flight. but if your reaching your destination then you should be busy slowing down, telling the crew to get ready to descend, and the BIGGEST * looking at the damn radar!

unless its a VTOL and just plonks down!
