New Zealand bans kids' annual rabbit throw
New Zealand bans kids' annual rabbit throw
A fun filled time where kids compete to see how far they can throw a dead rabbit has been banned due to complaints from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. No word on if they understand that dead rabbits feel no pain.

How in the world does something like that even start?

"Gee, hunting pigs just doesn't seem to be enough. I know, let's throw around dead rabbits too!"

The rabbits are dead, so they obviously don't care, but still...
Somewhere I think kids should learn it's not normal to throw around dead stuff. If only to prevent them from tossing gramps into the dirthole unceremoniously during the funeral.

Kids weren't the only ones disappointed, however, as adult Kiwis learned that they could no longer play Kick the Cripple.

Well... what's not normal to one is to another I guess.

What in the world is it teaching the kids or showing them? When will they ever use the skill of tossing a dead rabbit?

Sick and twisted, actually.

They're leftover from Easter. Someone forgot to feed them.

Rabbits aren't native to Australia or New Zealand, so killing them is usually done in an effort at eradicating them completely.

They're dead, I seriously doubt the children learn it's ok to throw dead things around.

throwing dead animals is about as bad as eating dead animals in my opinion. not sure if it makes sense to bash the one thing while the other is still widely accepted.

This takes Weasel Stomping Day to a whole new level.

But seriously,

If it takes a ban to make folks not pitch dead things around. I mean EEEWWWW. If I found any of my children doing this in my neck of the wood, I'd send them to the shrink.

I can't even finsh a solid thought because of how abhorrent this is.
