Florida passed a similar law. People were screaming and protesting that Florida would become a Wild West Shoot-Out, but of course nothing has changed. None of the anti-gun wacko's doomsday predictions happened.

LOL.

I would love this law here in California, but that will happen the same day hell freezes over. I wonder if laws like this do have a direct affect on crime rates though...

I would think they would. Makes criminals think twice about breaking in on old ladies when the old ladies have magnums and the law on their side.

I don't know about here. I commute 500 miles a week. I see a lot of road rage. I don't 'pack heat' simply because I might use it.

(Note to cheeselog...my spellcheck calls you cheesecloth.)

"He needed killin'" defense a reality? Yeehaw!!

Oh, indeed, mandatory or lenient carry laws have shown a drop in actual crimes by actual criminals. Yes, part of carrying is conquering that part of 'I could just shoot you!' that people have.

Hubby also has long commute.. 30 or so miles can take from 45 minutes to 3 hours, depending on day and time of day. He is amazed by the rude people and actions he sees every day...

Gun laws tend to make felons out of average citizens. When I lived with my parents in Pacoima (near a housing project in a very poor mostly hispanic neighborhood) we owned and carried firearms. We also lived across the street from an elementary school, making us felons within our own home. That sound you hear on New Year's Eve is not rain, it's the gentle patter of bullets on the roof...
