Bamboo flooring is gorgeous!

And the cloth made from it is awesomely soft and nice!

(Still need a source to buy it by the bolt so I can make my own clothes! WHeeee!)

A very interesting article, even if it was written in engarish...

I support the idea to use such a fast-growing plant for the manufacture of items that would otherwise have been made from slow-growing and increasingly rare hardwoods.

I remember a vacation to Thailand when we saw our guide make a raft out of bamboo that had been cut the same day, tied together with twisted strips of fible pulled from the bamboo itself, also used for the frequent repairs en route. We then floated down a river on this raft with the guide. When we'd reached our destination in the afternoon, we were served a rice-dominated meal in a restaurant (built out of bamboo, what else?) at the riverside. The rafts were dismantled there and were transported to centres nearby where the bamboo would be used to make furniture, etc.
