That's a great story, although it makes me wonder if he would have been freed for reciting verses from the Qur'an.

This is handy to know, in the event I'm ever jailed in the US. After 13 years of Catholic schooling, I can recite passages upon passages.... good thing being able to regurgitate quotes is proof of one's faith.

What a sucker for a judge! Knowing the 23rd Psalm proves nothing! WOW! Perhaps, I hope, there is more to the story than was reported?

Indeed, even though I am a pagan, I know TONS of bible verses from memory. Know thy enemy....

My favorite is one from 2Kings that talks about a messenger approaching, and they say "he drives like a madman".
