The comparisons are funny, but are a comment on some stupidity in our society today.

In 1973 I had one year of high school to go. Got into the odd fight here or there, sometimes blew up antholes with fireworks, also had the odd "paddling" applied by teachers and the headmaster. (Never hugged any teachers, though, although I can remember one particularly huggable young lady...) Anyway, I digress. No SWAT teams or psychologists or drugs like Ritalen needed at any time.

Still, I turned out to be a relatively normal person, but you may disagree...

What an eye-opener. You know, this may be a humorous look at society decades apart but truth is a harsh reality. You can't do anything these days without someone or some group wondering what your intentions are. I sometimes wonder when walking through the store holding my daughters hand might be construed as, and that is a very sad commentary on life in the 2000's.

Man does that hit home or what? We can laugh at it but there are real life examples of every one of those...

I remember when this was posted at worth about a year ago, and a lot of good counter-stories where posted.

Just pick the right examples and you can make anything look bad by comparison. It's a load of crap. There's no such thing as the good old times, there where as much problems there as there are now. One example is not representative for all reality.

Wait till you see the "2007 compared to 2017" joke in ten years time.
