Yes, this is screwed up television, and I can't imagine anyone not agreeing with that

But hey, the efforts of our government these last couple of years has resulted in even less donors then ever before.
Maybe it's time people are confronted with the result of their decision to not be an organ donor, giving a face to the people who are not fortunate enough to recieve a kidney might just do the trick.

Like the article states, the founder of the network died from kidney failure himself, besides, this is public television, not a commercial broadcasting channel, I'm convinced of their good intentions, even though television doesn't get any less tasteful than this.

Of course this is tasteless, that's the whole point of the show: Making people understand how bad current donor situation is. I think it's a really strong statement, and I hope it helps. I've been a registered donor ever since I was old enough to decide, and I'd wish more people were.

There are always two sides to a story and here there is on the one hand, as already said the non-awareness that you cannot get a transplant unless somebody else chose to donate, and the other is the commercializing of said issue. I for myself, decided that after I die, they can take everything that they can take to help somebody to live.
