Hoping we all remember them today and remain thankful that we're still with our loved ones. picked by kxmk 2 years ago

I changed the link to an actual article.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; people need to stop upvoting because they like the headline. At minimum you should to check if there's a real story behind it, if not actually read the article.

This is a sad milestone but we've got to STOP citing "milestones!"

There is a war going on and people will die - that is reality. On this memorial day, can we stop counting for a minute and just pay our respects.

I agree to an extent. I posted this, however, because even though I know always that we're at war and am aware of the consequences it brings, I find myself getting wrapped up in my own world on a daily basis and...well, forgetting exactly how bad it can get.

I'm not at all proud to admit it, but it's true. I'm not suggesting anyone on Plime gets the same way and I wasn't posting it for the "shock" value and/or body count. More than anything, it was just a reminder to myself (and possibly others) just how good that BBQ in my back yard will taste today, knowing that I'm home and able to enjoy it with those I love, while remembering those not so fortunate.

...that's all.
