The Day Before - Amazing Photography
Using iconic events from history, the Cape Times(a local newspaper) highlights the fact that world-changing events often can¹t be predicted and that the course of history can, quite literally, change in a day. picked by streetlight22 1 year ago

Thought-provoking stuff, but it makes me glad that I do not know the future, even one day away.

You've all probably seen that TV series where the guy get's tomorrow's paper today, and then he rushes around town making sure disasters don't occur?

Well, I prefer to live in blissful optimism that tomorrow will be fine.

I'm with the Ramblin man on that. I immediately got lost in the magic of the irony of seeing the pre-future.

What amazing shots, and yes "thought provoking" is definitely the right descriptor. I was imagining a similar scene occuring on Sept 11th and wondered what all of those soccer players would be doing. Heavy!!!!!

Thought-provoking for sure.

I liked the Hiroshima one best, I think; it depicts care and respect for another human's life, while the following day's event demonstrated an utter lack of those emotions entirely.

Still, I'd prefer to not know what tomorrow will bring, even if it is the end of my world as I know it. How could I enjoy a rainbow, or the first snowfall (the most magical day of the year) if I know it will all be changed in the blink of an eye? Besides, I like surprises.

I think all four selections demonstrate lack of respect for human life (in pre-post-retrospect). No matter how much we may disagree with something, destroying life to "prove a point" is the worst thing anyone can do.
