Thank goodness that car was found before anything horrible happened. I think the saddest statement was by Emmanuel Eshepu when he said that they were getting used to that kind of news. It is sad, I just hope we all never brush off the possibilty because we hear it too much.
We've had conflicting stories throughout today as to what had happened. When I woke up the news on the radio stated that Haymarket was going to be closed for an 'unknown amount of time during the morning' and that Piccadilly underground station would be closed. Then the news was stating a silver Mercedes had crashed into a bin during the early hours of the morning on Haymarket, and an eye witness saw a man running away from the vehicle so he alerted the police. That was the story for much of the day, even after news that it was a supposed bomb; and then mid afternoon it switched to the fact an ambulance had been called out to Tiger Tiger to attend to someone who was ill and then noticed a car smoking nearby.
I didn't notice any additional 'siren' noise throughtout the day (which is normally the case with lesser incidents), and the police presence away from Piccadilly didn't seem any more intense that it usually is.
I did opt not to go to Tiger Tiger tonight though...I wonder if they're suffering from this?
