Paul Smith, born in 1921, probably is one of the first to use ASCII characters to draw and paint artworks. Despite of his spastic cerebral palsy, he developed a very unique skill, using such “@ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ .” characters to create masterpieces, shown below.
