Alley Cat Photos
Like the human homeless, these street cats struggle for survival right beneath our noses. Every photograph and story in this book claims a piece of our hearts. picked by misswinkle 1 year ago

"Kat" looked exactly like a calico I used to have a few years back. I had to give her away. That picture really made me miss her...

My Mom took in my brother and his cat when he lost his job, and she also feeds a stray. My Mom IS the crazy cat lady.

My friend Linda had 49 cats and used to make the same joke. But all these guys lived in her one bedroom apartment. I've never met anyone who loves cats like she does. But she's still a crazy cat lady.

She took great care of them. I swear you couldn't smell a thing. Coming home with her was like the scene in Ace Ventura when all the animals come out at the same time. It was truly a sight to see.

My sister organised a trap, neuter and release programme for her local tribe of feral kitties. Demonstrating early signs of CCLism she rescued one of them and made a blog about it.

The link? Oh yeah, sure - if you want to see it, here it is.

i bet! that'd be insane though. i have 5 of them in my studio apartment, that's plenty. we have a group of semi-tame feral cats outside, i'd love to be able to get them neutered to keep the population in check like pocksuckets sister but i don't have the money to do it.

You could see it also as a triumph of the animal spirit... these creatures are surviving on their own in a 'harsh' environment. Their 'apparent' sadness is quite possibly just a projection from our concept of 'lost'. Strong creatures, these!

I don't know. Alot of the pictures stated the cats died at certain dates. Did you notice how it would flash up in the description after a few seconds? I got to the point where I was dreading that another "So and So died on this date" would pop up.

It seems many weren't surviving well. Kind of a
Catch 22 with their breeding habits. I mean, they breed enough to keep their numbers up, even in these harsh environments, but they also submitting more of their own, to these harsh environments.
