10 Million Americans Busted for Pot: Enough is Enough
10 Million Americans Busted for Pot: Enough is Enough
What would cops do without weed? For one thing, they'd sure spend a lot less time arresting and processing petty pot violators. How much time? For starters, however long it took to bust the estimated 739,000 Americans arrested for minor pot possession in 2006. picked by Bilb0 11 months ago

There is no logical reason why marijuanna is illegal. As I've said before, forget about the fact that nicotine and alcohol are legal, look at caffeine. Caffeine is a psychoactive drug that is extremely addictive, much more so than pot.

It is easy to overdose on, unlike pot.
It is readibly available to children who are effected even more so than adults.

Making caffeine illegal as any drug similar to it would cause world-wide riots the like we have never seen.

Legalizing pot is the most common-sense thing to do.

I must say, 2many, one thing I really appriciate about my participation in the Plime community, is the opportunity to be exposed to intelligent people with differing views. I hold stereotypes of Conservative people, and though some of the things that you post I am STRONGLY in disagreement with, some of them (like this) shatter my erroneous preconceptions. For that I am quite grateful...

Or we could illegalize booze, coffee AND cigarettes.
Wait, they tried that with booze in the 20's and 30's and that failed miserably, even INCREASING crime (it was the golden age of the Mafia).

Yeah, what DrNothing said.

I wish it was legal too.

Common-sense?! Now why would politicians use that? They've done such a 'fine' job with those new style refer-madness commercials ... and by 'fine' I really mean 'terrible'.

It's plausible that the federal government is -- and always has -- greatly underestimated the number of Americans who use pot.
Oh yeah, most likely!

I agree. But here and here are why it's illegal. Yep, jail is big business, with a damn strong lobby.

Reduce the number of prisoners and this industry loses money and resources.

Great post. Very timely in a country that thinks that throwing money at something will make it go away.
