That would suck having to gain 64 pounds for a movie. They better pay a lot. Lol

Needs more Vincent D'Onofrio and Adrien Brody. Especially considering the former holds the Guiness world record for most weight gained for a movie.

Meh - he put on 45lbs. That's easy. Just eat loads.

Christian Bale lost 63lbs for The Machinist.

70 pounds, actually. It should be on the list because it is THE world record.

deputydog@deputy-dog.com if you feel that strongly.

I still reckon losing beats gaining though.

Meh. Not trying to pick a fight. I just checked wikipedia and it was 70.

I agree that losing beats gaining but there were enough lesser gains on that list that I think it should be included.

No, what I meant was that was the email address of the person who compiled the list. I looked up Vincent on IMDb and they were saying 45lbs. But that wasn't for Full Metal Jacket. It was for The Salton Sea.

Do you suppose he lost the 70lbs for FMJ and then put that extra 45 on later? Because 115lbs is a reasonable sized person right there.

The man has dedication, I'll give him that.

Am I the only person who thinks Renee Zellwegger looks better when she was heavier?

Nope, I think she looks better in the Bridget Jones pic also.

I was shocked at the weight lost by Matt Damon and Christian Bale. Neither of them had any extra to begin with!

Christian Bale - Machinist/Batman Begins

This guy is one of the most intense actors to come along in my lifetime. I have all his movies on DVD(he made others than the popular ones, 10 or 11 I think). He can be whatever you want. If I was , you know, I'd be hot for him.

I actually just watched the Machinist on Friday.

And I used to think this was impressive:
Brian Steele lost over 12 pounds during the Hellboy (2004) shoot, because of the immense heat inside the suit he was wearing.

I agree. I really hope he starts getting more recognition for how amazing he is. He was the little boy in "Empire of the Sun" for christ sake.

I've only recently discovered him and am working my way through his movies. Not a one where he hasn't blown me away yet - even if the film itself has been a little sub-par, he still shines through.

He is up there on my hero list.

I wish I could get a job where I had to put on muscle. It's so hard getting motivated to go to the gym. But if I were getting paid, and was contractually obligated to be doing so, I think it would be much easier.
