Now I was already to mock this woman because, well pigs get fat, it's what they do. But letting the collar grow so tight it had to be surgically removed, that's abuse.

that's true. the pig sitter should have removed the collar when they noticed it was getting tight. on the other hand i think the pigs owner is just as guilty of abuse. 50lbs would be underweight even for a potbellied pig. technically she was starving him to try and keep him smaller.

Why haven't we passed laws banning people from owning animals after this sort of thing happens? I hear far to often of repeat offenders doing things like this.

I was thinking the exact same thing as you, Dolly. A pig getting fat? Duh! I was already planning out my snappy remark. Then as I read the article, I felt sorry for the pig.
