I would hate to have been under a National Socialist regime. Not because of its evils or such but because I'd be a cog in the machine and wouldn't be able to exist for myself. I can't abide the idea of not being an individual, being me.

Ley was upset by the end of his dream and became more deranged. Convinced that he could use his background as a chemist to prove that there was a decomposing enzyme in the blood of Jews, he proposed that he should conduct research to confirm his bizarre claim. This proved too much for even the fanatical SS, who had him sidelined for the rest of the war. When hostilities ended, he was arrested by the Americans and, soon after, hanged himself with a toilet chain in his Nuremberg cell.

This made me laugh. I'm imagining this Ley guy getting all mad and then a flickering lightbulb appearing over his head and then a scene typical of these guys:

I can picture the SS men shaking their heads and thinking, DO shut up, assmunch, we don't need any HELP damaging our credibility.

Anyhow, the idea of an indoctrination holiday is kind of sickening and excites me at the same time. Nazis caused a lot of er, trouble, to say the least, but they did leave some fascinating stories.

Been there, seen that. Frickin weird.
