My sister went to Australia last year to visit friends of ours who work on a farm there. The drought has just about bankrupted the farm, and the workers may have to move somewhere else for work. Very sad.

It is very sad, many farmers have been taking on huge debts to bankroll themselves through whats been a very long drought. Many farmers are leaving the land and even the government is providing assistance to do so.

Sad news for the world too as Australia and in particular the Murray-Darling basin is, or was, a huge food producing region.

There is some positive news that Queensland and parts of NSW have some good rain.
