Yeah, I know, no one will have that many cigs in 1 shot, but the result is still disturbing nonetheless. picked by johnsnow 1 year ago

I anticipated the water turning black, but I had no idea what would happen to it after it was boiled. That was quite shocking...and gross.

Wow, that is gross...I didn't realize that that would happen!! One more reason why I am not a smoker and one more reason for people to quit!

Any smokers need to reseal your driveway? Just scrape the tar out of your lungs and fill in the cracks.

It would take a lot more than that many cigs to do that to your lungs. The tissue in a person's lungs regenerates (on a cellular level of course). Not to say that smoking is not extremely unhealthy for a person, but that not all relevant factors are being taken into account.

Very dramatic, but scientifically irrelevant.

First, nobody smokes each cigarette as one long drag. The hit you get from a cigarette is much less.

Second, not everything inhaled is retained.

Third, as previously stated, lung tissue does have time in between cigarettes to clean and regenerate. (Besides, I change the water in my lungs

Are cigarettes bad for you? Yes. If you don't smoke, don't start. If you do, think about quitting.

However, crap like this is not likely to have a significant impact on smokers, for the same reason that "Reefer Madness" didn't significantly stop marijuana use. Scare tactics don't really work and are too easily dismissed.

Everyone these days knows that cigarettes are bad for you, and so the argument about health no longer works to deter smokers.

If you think about it, all that doesn't have to be in one shot. If you smoke a pack a day, in a little under 3 weeks you will have smoked 400 cigarettes... all of that crap in your lungs in 3 weeks, jeez

Under the video one of the comments talks about putting a Swedish Tobacco product under your lips and wonders why it is banned in most countries - that's because it gives you mouth cancer!!

A dog walking friend died recently of Brain Tumours directly related to smoking. He had given up two years ago because of emphasema and asthma! It got him in the end, just as it will get the person commenting that he has smoked for 55 years!

Don't any of the smokers say that you have got to die somehow because my sister in law said exactly that and died at 52 from cancer, painfully!

I quit smoking about 5 weeks ago.

I used that fairly new Chantix stuff.

It has been worth quitting. I cannot stand the smell of cigs and don't want to be around smokers anymore.

Definitely think about quitting if you smoke. Food tastes better, smells are more vibrant, nights sleep are much better. Everything is much more vibrant. Oh, and your hands aren't yellow, your skin is clearer, and you clothes don't smell like an arse.

I am sorry that you have suffered losses, were these people less worthy because they smoked? You obviously don't think so. Will angrily lashing out at smokers make them quit and somehow save them? Not likely. Do you even intend your rant to be anything except venting anger? Probably not. (I am guessing.) Seems you have some issues you need to work out. Anger at a loss is natural, but being angry at someone that had no direct connection to your losses will not help you cope.

Ever been addicted?

We all start for different reasons, but for most, we continue because we are addicted. It is more than an intellectual decision that I want to smoke. At a certain point there is a real difference between knowing you should quit and being ready to quit.

I am not saying this is a good reason to smoke, I advise everyone to quit or not start. However, please do accept the fact that jokes such as "I have to die eventually" are part of the rationalization mechanizations of an addict, not attempts to hurt you.

If quitting were as easy as saying "Wow, these things can kill me?" and stopping, nobody in this day and age would smoke.

Read the other posts in here. Talk to some youths about the dangers of marijuana. Scare tactics do work, and they aren't easily identified by everyone becuase not everyone looks for them.

I’ve been a heavy smoker for 55 years–that’s over 600.000 unfiltered cigarettes–with no harm whatsoever. Moreover, I understand smokers’ lungs are used for transplant. Lungs have a self cleaning capability.

So I guess your post would qualify as bool stool.
