Who profits from biofuels?
Who profits from biofuels?
This very recent article by McKinsey graphs who has profited most from the production of biofuels over the past couple of years. There was a post related to this topic recently, but I can't find it... picked by rambler 9 months ago

This is a related paper from the Economist:

Maybe a better one (no subscription needed):

"But the political rush to back ethanol,
just because it is green and people have heard of it,
is a mistake."

In the forum there is somewhere a related thread.

Thanks, spamtrap, for finding that one again. Good points in there.

(And I'm happy to see someone else also reading The Economist!)

One acre of land only creates 50-55 gallons of ethanol per year. Thats 5% of what we would need to sustain our annual current fuel consumption. You decide.

Cellulosic ethanol would help extend that. You can make that stuff from any plant matter, not just corn.

That chart looks like the marketers are taking a beating.
