Rules Kids Won't Learn in School
Rules Kids Won't Learn in School
Life is not fair. Get used to it. The average teenager uses the phrase "it's not fair" 8.6 times a day. You got it from your parents, who said it so often you decided they must be the most idealistic generation ever. When they started hearing it from their own kids, they realized Rule #1. picked by leopoldogolba 9 months ago

This is interesting.
What is really beyond the dignity of people?
Here is for example littering.
In the school district I live the schools' corridors and restrooms are cleaned daily, but the classes are cleaned by the janitors only on a monthly basis.
Littering can be a serious problem, so teachers try to keep an eye on the kids.
Even so it happens every once in a while, that some trash gets on the floor, for example a piece of paper.

If a teacher asks a kid to pick it up should the kid protest or comply?
Should picking up littering be beyond his dignity or should he realize that this is his classroom, someone has to pick that piece of trash up, etc....

Reminds me to work where one of my coworkers explained to one of the secretaries (not his, he does not have one), that he makes so much money per 5 minutes, that the company can not afford him to clean his own mug, he should do real work, and she should do this cleaning instead.

She of course made the logical conclusion that since he made such exorbitant sums of money that he could afford to pay her for this service and therefore she would be glad to do so for the low, low price of $5 per wipe?

If it was not a company mug, I don't see how it fell to anyone but him to clean it. He isn't there 24/7 so he has a few minutes of free time to take it home and stick it in the dishwasher, yes?

Rule #10. Be nice to nerds. You may end up working for them. We all could.
Love it!

I'm going to mention that schools should focus more on academics and less on athletics.

Just my $5*.

*I'm sure we've gone through a lot of inflation since that term was coined.

$5 sounds about for that term. And I think I just might have to print this out for future use. Or better yet, frame it!

I am just thinking back to my own teenage years when if someone gave me this list I would have set it on fire and told them to piss off.

I was quite a dear.

I did have my own apartment at 17.
