First: don't trust anyone who works on commission to give you advice that is relative to their paycheck.

Second: if your agent will not let you see the appraisal, DON'T BUY THE HOUSE.

Yes, I think the agent probably mislead them. No, I don't think they should be surprised. And finally... No, I don't think they have a case or should even be pursuing one.
