So the only evidence given that the two dogs in question were Pit Bulls is the word of two people who were scared out of their minds and super-high stressed over the attack of their Pom?
Sounds like conclusion-jumping to me.

@Rowangrey: Possibly, but they did mention the paw prints in the video which give a clue as to the size of the attacking dog. But I am skeptic too.


The problem isn't Pit Bulls, the problem is dogs that are trained to kill. All dogs can be dangerous if they are trained to embrace their feral instincts. It's very rare for a properly raised Pit Bull to attack anything, they're usually rather cuddly and affectionate.

It's not so much "what happens when a Pit Bull gets off its leash," as much as it is "what happens when someone who shouldn't own dogs lets their dog off its leash."

I don't think that the description of this link is fair. It should say when an aggressive dog gets off its leash.

You know what usually happens when a pit bull gets off its leash? It goes to the first person it sees and demands attention through tail wagging and face licking.

This kinda of thing wouldn't be a problem if more funding went to local animal control. I can't even walk my dogs outside because of how many other dogs are outside roaming the streets. Most of them are friendly, but there are a few aggressive ones that make it too dangerous for other smaller dogs to be walking outside.

If more effort were put into preventing these problems... Well that isn't going to happen anyway, so no point in speculation.
