David Reid entered into a drinking contest inspired by American Pie 5 with his friend James Lynch. After an intensive bout of drinking, Reid was helped to bed where he later died of alcohol poisoning.

I drink alot, in fact thats what I plan to do later this evening. Drinking contests to the death based on the fifth in a series horrible movies, really? At least he doing his part to help keep the gene pool clean.

My maternal grandfather died from alcohol poisoning due to a drinking bet. Mom was only 14, and her mom had died 10 years before.

Not making callous and flippant comments actually lets the moment be a somewhat reverent one instead of the easily ridiculed disaster that it truly is. Only by pointing out the stupidity of this is there any hope to prevent it from happening again. It lets people know that they will not be cried over at their funeral but laughed at and mocked the world around, and who wants that?

Beware binge drinkers you may be the next to die.

How so? He removed himself from the gene pool, thus preventing further passing along of the dreadful gene (meme) that brought this about...and did so more or less of his own volition
