So, will the state of Mississippi be giving subsidies to the business owners when they lose 66%, or more, of their business?

And then the obese people go home and eat twinkies and frozen pizza? What on earth do they think this is going to help?

This is the worst idea I've heard in a long while. Not because it's discriminatory. Not because obese individuals make up the bulk of the restaurants clientel. But because you don not f**k with fat people when it comes to food.

I can just see the host/hostess greeting you at the door with a scale and a tape measure to see if you are permitted to eat. Obese people would just get more deliveries and drive-through and a lot of restaurants would close.

They should start with banning hydrog oil then think about finding bigger fish to fry. Banning hydrog oil actually has real health benefit, if you still eat hyrdog oil...STOP. Read the labels, lots of things have switched to non hydrog oil, one hold out is products by Altria, no suprise there. Banning restraunts from feeding obese people is stupid, are they gonna make you BMI people at the door like ID'ing them at a bar??? WTF

There will be a rolling thunder on the horizon if this bill passes... But that might just be their bellys.

I want to see a large group of fat people show up at the next meeting where these idiots are going to be, and proceed to beat the tar out of them.

I picture speakeasies forming where the more robust of us can hang out, grab a burger ... or two and shoot some pool ... but won't someone consider the rise in crime from illegal over weight selling?!?! MADNESS!!

Now if Mississippi would pass a law to make it illegal to talk to stupid people that would be great.

That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard... The few obese people I know (3 to be exact) don't cook because they can't stand long or have medical issues so they eat out all the time. So with that said I guess they would starve to death if they lived in Mississippi. So, who would take the blame for that? the state or the obese person? hmmm......

That's just wrong, and it's discrimination towards the obese. I understand the motivation, but come on.

If I were a hostess at any restaurant I would quit. There is no way on this green earth I would ever refuse service to anyone because they were FAT. This is sooo wrong. I wonder how many of the people are passing this law would be able to eat in Mississippi after the fact.

I agree - though I'd laugh to see everyone BMI'd at the door. It would look so funny!

Banning harmful foods or encouraging restaurants to healthy-up their menus makes one hell of a lot more sense to me than banning obese people from restaurants.

I'm using an actual pic of me as my avatar (be nice!) I am according to weights and measures considered obese.

Although I don't eat out but maybe twice a year, I'd start eating out just to defy this incredibly ridiculous proposal.

salads of course. ;)
