I don't see what the big deal is here. Even the kid that was duct taped thought it was funny. Where is the problem? She got her message accross, no one was hurt, everyone had a good time with it.

It's getting to the point that teachers can't do anything to discipline a child. I know, I know, she should have just sent him to the principal; but then the kid would have gotten in trouble instead of just been given a friendly warning. People are just looking for lawsuits and it's a damn shame that you can't show an ounce of personal creativity in discipline without taking a major risk.My eldest boy has a teacher who regularly messes around and plays harmless pranks on the kids and they learn and love the guy.

It's a shame that like you say people in more and more professions are having their personality stifled in the name of "formality". If people were more free to express themselves and were more relaxed, especially teachers, then perhaps we'd have a more conducive learning atmosphere for our kids.]]>201703

We seem to be faced with a generation of parents...some from my generation, no doubt...that seem to be dropping the ball...I agree with that, however, that was not funny or called for. No we didn't have the full story. The teacher may be young, but there is a protocol for discipline, and far as I know, duct tape doesn't fall under it ANYWHERE.

Back in my school days, I remember younger teachers being more friendly, and less rigid.
