Hooray! I desperately wish we could find a way to cease animal testing but still provide plenty of room for scientific advancement.

This is great but I don't think anything can replace the feeling of knowing that my oven cleaner had been sprayed into a bunnies eyes in order to get the warning: DON'T SPRAY IN YOUR EYES to really have some meaning.

I feel like this type of testing would be very limited. Judging from the article, it seems that they are testing the effects of toxins or compounds at the cellular level but many times it's what's happening at the systemic level that is most important. For instance, the liver may metabolize a compound into a more toxic form which affects only the brain.

Looks promising though.
