According to its Web site, the purpose of Wikileaks, founded in 2006, is to develop "an uncensorable system for untraceable mass document leaking and public analysis."

--

Wikileaks posted a press statement on its site about the U.S. order, calling it "clearly unconstitutional" and said it "exceeds its jurisdiction."

It's offline in Germany, too. I tried to look it up a while ago (after 2many's post) - nothing.

Interesting, as it is a federal mandate that people have a FREE and ANONYMOUS way to blow the whistle. In the 80's an 800 number was created and posted on the military bases I was on, with posters all around encouraging us to call in so the chain of command could ruin us once they found out who "tattled"...

But anyway, if this site is removed, they are REQUIRED to offer a free alternative!
