I fail to see how that is a plus considering there will be no repair parts and no more films will be released in this format. But hey, I'm sure Toshiba won't mind your money! ha ha

I knew this would happen. Ever since I heard about blu ray some what, 2 years ago, I knew this would kick ass.

As soon as I heard that the new PS3 would be Blu-Ray I knew it was already over. It may not drive the market here in the states, but it does in Japan and with the huge footprint of Sony it made it that much more powerful.

It's a plus for the future of the format, the pricing of the discs, the players and the consumer as well.

It is not a plus for the early adopters of HD DVD, but that is the chance you take when by early during a format war.

Wal-Mart has been selling HD DVD players for under 150.00 everyday for weeks, I knew the end was near.

Now I can finally buy a High Definition DVD player. I was just waiting to see which one would pick up before I bought anything. A lot of good news today.
