Speeders given the choice of a £60 fine and three points - or a telling-off by a 10-year-old (guess which one they're choosing!) Posted: 9 months ago by AutumnLotus
In the battle to curb speeding drivers there have been fines, bans, road cameras, sleeping policemen and, occasionally, even real policemen. None, it is safe to say, has been an undiluted success. So now children are being given the chance to make a difference with drivers pulled over for speeding near schools being offered either a £60 fixed penalty (and three points on their licence) or a dressing down from the pupils.

I'd take the telling off, but I can see that would be effective.
Call me over cautious though, but I'm slightly concerned there might be a minority group of extreme perverts who get off on being chastised by children who may take advantage of this.

EDIT - I fell victim to the curse of the double post, so might as well spread my comment across the two of them.
I could, of course, have put this in a 3rd post but that might have been seen as excessive.
And if that double posted too, what would I do then?
