Electronic tattoo display runs on blood
Electronic tattoo display runs on blood
Jim Mielke's wireless blood-fueled display is a true merging of technology and body art. At the recent Greener Gadgets Design Competition, the engineer demonstrated a subcutaneously implanted touch-screen that operates as a cell phone display, with the potential for 3G video calls that are visible just underneath the skin. picked by Sputum 6 months ago

Cool. While being mugged, the mugger can inadvertently call 911 while grappling with his victim.

You know, that is amazingly cool until you get to the last line of the article: The tattoo display is still just a concept, with no word on plans for commercialization.

Um I can make up concepts too... I'm gonna make a counterfeit printer that runs off stomach acid, and every time I cough, a $20 will pop out of my ass.

Lots of stuff have been concepts yet became reality. Like flying cars!!

but honestly, my gf hates that I love tattoos (totally against her native culture) but if I could get one that flashed a heart and then her name maybe I could also get away with one that went from a skull to an Anaheim Angels symbol to a Chargers blot to a ninja!!

One can only hope... *sigh*

Whoa.. government tracking devices? Does it vibrate? Cand you add custom ringers? it'd be cool if it could test for STD'S and automatically give you penisilun(spelling). And will it show up on black people? is it hackable so You can pup annoying pop-ups and spam on it? Yea i don't see that being very popular.. And is tehre potential it could shut- off completly and stop blood flow kinda like a blood clot and cause you to lose a limb or die?.. So many questions I want answers.. :-)

That's so cool.

Pity it's only a concept, but in theory it should work. It's the "It´s inserted through a small incision as a tightly rolled tube, and then it unfurls beneath the skin to align between skin and muscle." part that scares me a little.

I actually think the future will move to these sort of things. I mean how many things that we have today were "concepts" or "rediculous" ideas years ago?
