As far as nature taking its course, you're right of course..just that commuter trains and subways (very urban settings) were the first thing that came to mind, and it made me wonder about that.

On the other hand, if she didn't know it was in the toilet and unknowingly flushed it, how did they know to go and look for it?According to the story, the mother didn't know the baby was in the toilet..and I thought the railwaymen who found the baby were just in the right place at the right time and happened to notice something on the nearby tracks.
