I think that once you get to the knee, it's too late to try and take your foot out of your mouth.

Yeah, I was going to say the horse has already left the barn, but I like your summation better, tiger.

I wonder if she still feels the moon landing was faked.

While I do not agree with what she said in the slightest, why bring it up after a year just because she won the Oscar. She never should have said it in the first place. When you are in the public eye you have to measure your words carefully. They could make or break you.

If she didnt include the specific events of 9/11 and moon landing - would she still be under all this scrutiny? No because most of us would agree, I don't believe everything they tell me.

It depends on who the person is. She just won an Oscar so people are digging. As I said before she said it a YEAR ago. I didn't know that. Also some celebs are far more out spoken than others. It just depends. I really think in her case, that it is because she just won that award. IMO of course.

I`ve got my doubts about the moon landing too, and feel the similar to her about 9-11.

It`s too bad she can`t stand up for what she believes to be true, whether right or wrong in actuality, but bows down to the Powers That Be just so she is able to uphold an image, effectively selling her soul.

I get really annoyed when people claim that what they said was taken out of context or that they don't recall saying it or anything along those lines. If people in the public eye would think before they spoke instead of rambling on about nonsense and then later trying to make us believe thats not what they meant or even said, then I would have a lot more respect for them.

If any can find her original quote please post it. I don't see how something like that could be taken out of context.

What a poser! This was her opportunity to show her true conviction. I may not agree with everything she said and how she said it, but to back down entirely shows how very weak she is.

No matter. Every time a celeb speaks out it gives me hope that the truth will continue to spread. It's a very dismal topic, and celebs take a lot of s**t for speaking out, but they still have the potential to reach the most people.

Edit: This article is a bit more defined. Apparently she won't apologize, but she still says her comments were taken out of context.

Funny how fame turns people into experts of everything... either that, or skilled journalists know how to exploit egomania to get a story. Or both.
