That is so heartless.

Even I say that is heartless. Take them out if you must, but to sit on them is just rude and spiteful.

Plus that also stops others, such as the customers from using them. Oh sure the plan may be that the sitters will stand up to allow non-obviously-homeless people to sit, but many, if not most, will just keep on walking instead of asking if they can sit down.

Also there would be a huge amount of bad publicity from such a practice. There would also be quite a bit of protests from homeless-rights activist.

It would of course backfire tremendously.

This reminds me of that southpark episode where the homeless invade the town... "spare some change??"

A big uproar over something that doesn't need to be a big deal.

That's the fuel that Amerika thrives on!

My fiancee's grandfather had benches installed by a lake in his honor. I'm sure he'd be not only happy his bench provided some protection from the cold wet ground, but he'd probably even bring them soup.

I want to kick that lady right in the bench. Mean!!

Why doesn't she just raise money or donate her time somewhere so homeless people won't be homeless anymore? That would take care of the problem, build her character and set an example for other people that think like her. Seriously, instead of creating another problem, find the resource and fix it! If you build them homes and help out, there won't be homeless people.
