Woman guilty of false rape claim
Woman guilty of false rape claim
A 22-year-old former Woodinville woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to making a false rape accusation against a local college professor last June.

God, what a mockery of genuine cases she's made. picked by doggylives 5 months ago

What is really incredibly f'd up is that the next time she claims rape the defendant can't use this conviction in his defense.

A person who commits any other crime will have his record brought up. A person who was convicted of a prior rape will have the fact brought up the next time someone claims he raped them but the other way around is not allowed.

That is just crazy.

Yes I know that bringing up the prior false claim could unfairly sway a jury that she was lying again. However the same can be said for the accused. A prior conviction will tend to unfairly sway the jury that he is guilty again.

And what is really insane is the little amount of penalty she is receiving. 8 days in jail and $250 fine.

She deserves so much more than 8 days. I can't begin to image what she's done to this guys life, mud sticks an all. This guys probably been going through hell not to mention that once an accusation like this has been made it plants a seed in peoples minds that even after it's made know she was lying is gonna change things for this guy.

It's hard enough for victims of genuine rape to prove it and to be believed without asshats like this woman lying about it.

I positively loathe women (people) like this.

What a disservice she has done for every woman who is the victim of a real rape.

*I didn't read any comments because I had a lot to say about this so if I repeated some thoughts before me, great minds think alike.

Okay, by my math, she has to pay $250 in fines and spend a whopping 8 days in jail. Big f**king deal. This professor has had his entire world turned upside down by this douche and she gets off with a little smack on her hand? She has now made it more difficult and humiliating for anyone that has to file a sexual abuse or rape charge and she gets a suspended sentence? She has made a mockery out of the pain and mental anguish that truly goes along with the act of being raped and abused and she merely has to pay time and fines for what amounts to stealing a pair of shoes?!?! This is not only unbelievable to me but infuriating. There is NEVER an excuse to accuse someone of something like this, EVER.

She claims that this stems from her Grandather abusing her. If that is the case, she needs to get some help but I can't help thinking that she is crying wolf to make it sound like she is less pathetic than she really is.

I was going to comment on this part as well but didn't. I too felt that sounded like bs. Just a lame attempt to paint herself as a victim who should be sympathized with instead of a being branded a criminal.

I also can't help but wonder how she would take the same defense from the professor if he really did rape her. If he said he only raped her because he was molested would she feel then that he shouldn't be punished.

The law is much much much too lenient when it comes to false rape claims. Many of them go unpunished without any sort of criminal charges.
