That being said, Oprah is certainly leading us in the wrong way with her open support of Obama.

Oprah has an immense amount of power as shown alone in how many votes Obama has received this year.

Yeah, you're right it leans more toward the Christian view. Someone from my bible study emailed me the link. I don't think its the wrong way personally.

Oh, I wasn't trying to discredit it, I was just pointing out that the audience for this video is Christians in particular.

I agree with some of the stuff she says here, but I disagree entirely with some of the stuff she says. The thing that has upset me the most about her is her support for Obama.

She only frightens me in the fact that she is SO in bed with the Co$, Oprah = Xenu...maybe?

I've always been interested in Oprah's draw. She's been slowly turning into a new-age spiritual leader. I'm willing to bet there's some belligerent fundies out there who think she's the "anti-Christ" mentioned in the book of Revelation in the Bible. I can see how she is popular: she says we can be spiritual without the antiquated rigid moral constraints of dusty, dry religion. She emphasizes people and relationships over judgment and divisiveness. And, in this sense, I agree with her.

I liked the plug for the book at the end. That really made the video for me.

wow. i sense another religious-debate-supernova about to go boom. like it or not Oprah is a very influential person. but as long as she doesn't call for Jihad and the blood of the infidels i don't have a problem with her. on a side note, i think the reason she doesn't have kids yet is because she is leaving herself available for another immaculate conception. who knows? god might have a taste for the dark meat...

I can see why Oprah's been successful. She got everyone's attention with the original 'trash' type talk show - and then one day announced having a 'personal revelation' -- she never (in the beginning) said "you must do" she said "I did, and I feel great" and it's slowly evolved into a "must do" following

I think Oprah's a certifiable nut job. I really don't know why she has such a following - it's like she's somehow drugging her viewers or brainwashing them maybe?

Oprah seems to ride the wave of any fad that catches her fancy.

Be it dietary, anti-aging, medical, philosophical, or spiritual; she blindly follows anyone with a convincing-sounding argument and a good smile. I'm seriously surprised she hasn't fallen into Scientology.

I think she has serious issues with insecurity and I doubt she really has strong convictions about any of this. It's the blind leading the blind.

I personally can't stomach Oprah. Or Obama for that matter.

But this looks to me like a 7 minute commercial to scare you into buying the book plugged at the end.
