It bothers me as well because the church and religion has added to the prejudice against gay people. I have gay friends and the thought that you and others think that what they do in the privacy of their homes is a &quot;sin&quot; makes my skin crawl.</i></div>I understand that.  But to me, even if we forget about the idea of homosexuality as a sin (like ignore the issue entirely), everyone on Earth IS a liar and therefore still not perfect.<br/><br/>It's as if every person has this *one* sin attached to them, when really everyone has many sins that they choose to do.<br/><br/><div class='qp pad d'><i>Fag to me is a pretty offensive word, it kind of smacks of derision and prejudice.</i></div>Right, this too I understand.  I have NEVER and I <i>will</i> never refer to anyone as a &quot;Fag.&quot;  However, I thought it was a very clever play on words dealing with Mr. Haggard. Kids should be allowed free reign as far as beliefs go irrespective of what the parents believe. My eldest boy believes in God, I'm an Atheist. Thats ok though because I respect his rights. I don't force my beliefs on him.<br/><br/>As for Ted Haggard his hypocrisy is the thing that bothers me, the sad thing is that the thing that bothered most Christians was not the drugs but the fact he was alleged to have been with a gay man.</i></div>I don't think the fact that he had an affair with a gay man was the biggest issue.  The biggest issue was his hypocrisy, and then his relationship with the man.  He claimed not to use the drugs, so that's why it wasn't an issue.<br/><br/>Frankly, using drugs in and of themselves isn't a sin by any biblical standard. Using them to an excess is.<br/><br/>I started getting in trouble lately when I referred to him as Ted Faggard (haha I thought it was a great play on words).  She said that it was disrespectful. I agree, I still think it's funny though lol.<br/><br/><div class='qp pad d'><i><br/>To see these people making these kids cry and using fear and emotional blackmail to indoctrinate these kids and to mold them into something for their own purposes made me shed a tear. I went to a Christian High School, and I <i>refused</i> to stand up while singing or praying.  I wouldn't go up to the cross and pray.  I still haven't been baptized, because I have an issue with people who do it just to be &quot;seen&quot;. The church has turned Christianity into a cult.  If they read the Bible, most of the stuff they do goes directly against what the Bible says.<br/><br/>War in Iraq? Unbiblical, but the majority of Christians whole heartedly support it.  Speaking in tongues?  Unbiblical without a true translator (complicated, don't get me into it).<br/><br/>I didn't watch the clip, I've been wanting to watch the video forever after seeing the trailer.  I believe that Ted Haggard is in this video, and  he's from my city.  The guy absolutely disgusted me, and always gave me a creepy vibe. The burden of so much &quot;sin&quot; at a young age almost went on to make me mentally ill with the stress and guilt that was imposed on me. <br/><br/>To see these people making these kids cry and using fear and emotional blackmail to indoctrinate these kids and to mold them into something for their own purposes made me shed a tear. Just wow.  I don't even know what to say about what I just watched.  If I was confused about religion before I am even more confused now.  I don't know whether I am afraid or happy or sad or how do even describe it.  My brain is quite a muddled mess right now.  I like to think of myself as religious but I do not participate in religious activities that are vaguely cult-like.  It frightens me.
