A Pro Perspective on the Candian Harp Seal Hunt
A Pro Perspective on the Candian Harp Seal Hunt
A great website with the other side of the story. They post and respond to the hate mail and encourage an open dialog - makes for great bedtime reading.

It's really important for people to have holistic educated views on the facts of an issue before damning the people involved. This site uses the fact for it's own biases, but no more than anti-seal hunting groups.

It's so easy to fall into the "don't kill cute animals!" mentality. And I just ask people to think with facts instead of emotions.

I lived on a farm. I know that when killing anything, it is hard to be humane. Take a look at chickens- I cut their head off and blood flies everywhere yet they can still walk around eating food and s**t. That's scary!

Uh, what was I talking about?

thanks for posting another side to this. Some can see the hypocrisy over being upset at the killing of a "cute" animal and not think twice over others, but many can not.

It may have taken you a year to start posting, but you've came out with a bang. Thank you.

Well, if they want to push their side of the story they need a better web site than that and the should do away with the name calling page as well. The site doesn't convince me that it's right to go bashing a defenceless animal to death (or not) in the name of consumerism or the fact that it's eating 'OUR' fish stocks. As I said earlier, what makes us think we have the right to rule this world and decide what happens in it?

Good link!

It's not too often one finds an article or a website with this perspective.

It's refreshing to see a seal hunt article that has links to actual, credible statistics and doesn't play up on emotions.

I lived on a farm, too. Our headless chickens couldn't eat food, so I'm assuming you were raising zombie chickens.

Do zombie chickens taste like brains?

The same thing that gives all animals self-determination? If we have the power to rule this world, we should do so responsibly, but there isn't a contravening authority saying we can't. Only our own limitations determine to what extent we control our environment.

We never tried eating the chickens. They would just wander around until we could perform the exorcism. These weren't food chickens but hens. The food chickens died pretty much resistantly.
