It's a sad story, but I can't help appreciate the irony of the cat being named "Stouffer".

That's seriously messed up! Why is a microwave placed so that a 3 yo can get to it anyway?

My microwave is low enough that my daughter can get into it. The thing is to teach your children that the microwave is not a playtoy. Also, if you are going to have pets, you must teach your little ones to respect the pet and treat it nicely. Otherwise they may end up with a good scratch on the nose. Where were the parents while the little boy was torturing this animal?

I am with you on that one.

Poor thing. I wish I could take it home. :(

Aww, if I wasn't on the other side of another country, I would totally adopt it. I would also change it's name so there was no more confusion.

Because it is a microwave. People generally have them on kitchen counters.

I hear 3yr old and the first thing that comes to mind it that the kitty was col (or wet) and the child wanted to warm him up. Which would be thoughtful even if it was ... painful.

Also, I would like to know how long the cat was in the microwave before the parents found her, was she yowling for like 20min?

My son could easily get to the microwave if he had the little stool to stand on. And by the touch of one button the microwave will run for 30 seconds. Some microwaves have a "one minute" or "fast" feature that a little one can touch. It doesn't take long for stuff to happen. Just the other day my son had my poultry scissors(again). I swear I put them out of his reach. It only takes a second or two. But overall, the parent does need to teach the children how to treat the family pet.

Morbid curiosity forces me to ponder how long the poor little frozen dinner-cat was in there for. I feel like it wouldn't be able to survive for long at all in there. The microwave cooking process is pretty brutal.

Be strong, little guy! And be glad the kid didn't try to squish you into the slot of the toaster!

The boy probably had no idea it would hurt the cat.
