yes companies that are losing business to WalMart certainly try to claim the customer is losing.

The customers, however, claim they are greatly benefiting.

Sorry, I'll take the word of the consumer not the one who just wants to make money.

A very predjudiced view of Wal-Marts program.

I'm not a fan of Wal-Mart, in fact I avoid purchasing anything in a organization who for quite a few years paid employees so little they were actually eligible for financial aid. In addition they had to be pressured into paying overtime.

That being said, the $4 program is very good for anyone who takes a medication on their list.
They have a good assortment of common antibiotics and some medications that are otherwise a bit expensive, like Warfarin, an anti coagulant and Coumadin replacement.

I really can't see any reason to complain about this effort on their part. Do they hope it pays off in other ways? Well...sure. Don't we all.

Despite their altruistic spin, the pharmaceutical industry spends almost twice as much on promotion as it does on research and development. If they were truly concerned about the patient-consumer, they'd disband the entirely laughable PR gimmick known as the PPA and simply bring their own costs down, across the board. Don't hold your breath tho!

the pharmacy my mom and i use will match wal-mart's prices (if they're lower) if you mention it to them...
so hah, we win. lol

All the medications they cover for $4 are available to almost anyone with prescription coverage for $5. The people without insurance who actually would benefit from the $4 co-pay can most likely get those medications for free from a Patient Assistance Program.

So while it may be great to stop by and grab a $4 prescription, their other prices are just as high.
