If the father started CPR after the "breath of life" left his daughter, wouldn't that be considered trying to bring her back to life and thus, trying to be like God? I have sympathy for the parents for losing their daughter, I don't have compassion for allowing her to die.

Also, what about the whole "God helps those who help themselves" bit? Doesn't that mean that their god would help their daughter had the parents bothered to take her to the hospital? Doesn't that mean that their god isn't going to do anything for a family who sits on their butts and doesn't even try to save their daughter?

I don't get how someone could seriously not take their sick child to the hospital. How brainwashed do you have to be? Did they not love her? Was she just like cattle to them? If my child was sick and my church was anti-medical intervention, I'd leave the church. Ditto for the husband and the family. I wouldn't kill my child over something as stupid as (I really have nothing mature to call their.. religion).

There are very few religions that are anti-medical. I will pray for my children before, after, and during medical procedures.

I am a person who has faith that there is a God but I can't imagine turning down medicine. Thats like turning down a hammer when trying to drive a nail. At the most basic level they are technological devices created to solve a problem we couldn't do with prayer. No matter how much faith you have God's prerogative is not to drive that nail in for you so don't ask (Test not the Lord your God) instead ask him to help you not hit your thumb with the hammer on the way down :P

This is just disgusting. There seem to be a lot of Piss the Froggy off stories tonight. I can't understand the way that they think. I don't pretend to know anything about what the people mentioned in the story specifically believe, but to just apply a little logic.
