The U.S. military is promising action to address conditions in a barracks at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, after a soldier's father posted images on YouTube showing a building that he said "should be condemned."

Ironic that this comes at a time when the Pentagon is trying to get out of the business of providing housing. Many, many bases have contracted out the on-base housing. More info It's a bit out of date, but much of it is still applicable. It looks like this is the case at Fort Bragg, as well. So the military hands it over to the contractor, and then washes their hands of it.

The army likes to be consistent, it would look bad if the quality of housing was better than the medical care they get.
