Alaska town sues oil and power companies over global warming
A tiny Alaska village eroding into the Arctic Ocean sued two dozen oil, power and coal companies Tuesday, claiming that the large amounts of greenhouse gases they emit contribute to global warming that threatens the community's existence.

The lawsuit has been billed, the most dangerous in america picked by doggylives 5 months ago

how can it be dangerous? Better yet, why the heck is it allowed to go to trial? No matter the reasonings of the town I hope the companies counter sues them for all legal costs. Hopefully the case will be dismissed and legal fees will be minimal.

The town can not prove their case. Period. There simply is no definite proof one way or the other. Even if it could be proven that the companies were responsible for global warming their actions are not illegal under current law.

this is as frivolous as any you can name.

From the Article: "The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Kivalina by two nonprofit legal organizations -- The Center on Race, Poverty & the Environment and the Native American Rights Fund -- plus six law firms."

In other words, the people who actually came up with the idea and went around trying to find a plaintiff who would agree to this crap.
